Plug-In Activities

Plug-In Sioux Falls is planning a variety of programs and activities to engage the people ages 18-40 from the Sioux Falls area. Below are some examples of activities and topics. Be sure to check back often to see when these activities will be scheduled!

Think Government is Boring? Think Again!
We will hold roundtable discussions and presentations featuring representatives from various government agencies and departments talking about their responsibilities and goals.

We will also feature roundtable discussions where our public servants (elected officials) will lead discussions and answer your questions about their “job” as an elected official.

Your Voice Matters (and we can prove it!)
Are you registered to vote? In which city council or legislative district do you reside and do you know which council member, commissioner and legislators represent your district? Do you know where you go to vote? Have you moved and need to update your voter information? What percentage of residents in your district vote? Are they democrats, republicans or independents? What's the average age? How does our community compare to the rest of South Dakota? Attend this session to learn the answers to these questions and more.

Growing Future Political Leaders
We will hold a Candidate School and provide information on how to run for office. Learn about developing a campaign strategy, creating a platform, fundraising, getting organized, filing nomination papers, reporting requirements, ethics, media and effective communication.

Your Opinion Matters
How and when to contact your elected officials will be the focus of this session. We'll bring in experts to offer advice and guidance to all citizens.
